Weather in Florianópolis
Florianópolis is located in the subtropical climate zone of the Southern Hemisphere. Mild winters, warm summers, and clean ocean swells year-round.
Summer (December – February)
The hottest and most popular season. The ocean warms up to a comfortable 24°C – 26°C. High humidity brings short, intense tropical showers in the late afternoon.
Autumn (March – May)
The island’s golden season. Intense heat subsides to 20°C – 26°C, ocean water remains warm (22°C – 24°C), rainfall drops, and skies are crystal clear.
Winter (June – August)
Cool and windy season. Temperatures drop to 13°C – 20°C (down to 9°C at night). Southern swells bring world-class surf waves and migrating right whales.
Spring (September – November)
Nature’s renewal. Temperatures gradually rise from 18°C to 24°C. Winds settle down and nature explodes with vivid green colors across the island trails.
