Overview
Trilha Praia do Gravatá is a short but highly rewarding hike in eastern Florianópolis. It starts with a moderate uphill climb over a 100-meter hill, transitioning from forest tracks to open grassy paths. At the peak of the hill sits the paragliding ramp (Rampa de Gravatá) offering stellar 360-degree views of Lagoa da Conceição, Praia Mole, Barra da Lagoa, and the open ocean. Descending the hill leads to Gravatá beach, a protected cove with exceptionally calm, warm water and rounded giant boulders.
Trail Highlights
Gravatá Parking (Estacionamento)
Tiny roadside parking slot on the hill for 6-7 cars. Fills up completely by 8:30 AM.
Start Point (Trailhead)
The trailhead mark where the dirt road begins ascending the hill.
Paragliding Ramp
Flat grassy hill summit (Rampa de Gravatá). Best location for photos, flights, and sunset watching.
Finish: Praia do Gravatá
Secluded hidden beach featuring calm turquoise waters, rounded rocks, and a historical hut.
Piscinas Naturais do Gravatá
Secret natural tide pools hidden in the rocks on the right side of the beach. Excellent snorkeling spot during low swell.
